The Recipe of Tomato Basil Mozzarella

What would be the best recipes to serve during the warm nights of the sumer? Must be something refreshing. One of the most refreshing thing that you can enjoy during the summer would be tomatoes. They are simply the bounty fruits of the summer. Although canned tomatoes can be enjoyed all year arround, but the fact remains that no canned tomatoes can ever beated the fresh ones. The fresh tomatoes are superior to the canned ones in term of taste as well as in term of health benefits. The fresh tomatoes are great sources of vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin A and C as well as lycopene.

One tiny tomato can almost satisfy the human’s body daily needs. On the other hand, altough there is no study to confirm it yet, the tomato may be containing a dangerous substance called BPA on a high does. There have been studies on the danger of BPA and therefore in some countries, the BPA usage has been banned and the canning of tomatoes use BPA. In theory, the acid of tomato will increase the level of BPA to dangerous for body health, but there have not been any studies specifically done for this matter. But to avoid the possible danger, it would certainly better just to avoid the canned tomatoes and always use the fresh one.

So if you want to try, here is the recipe to make great appetizer. A little note would be that this reacipe will make 20 healthy food finger.

Ingredients:

20 halved cherry or grape tomatoes

20 fresh basil leaves

20 small balls fresh mozzarella chesse or also known as the labeled bocconcini

Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Half aa cup of balsamic vinegar

A quarter cup of extra virgin oliv oil

20 toothpicks*

*If you have theme parties, than you can find the toothpicks with the right picture on the flag for the wooden ones, but for the plastic ones, you can easily find the color as well as the one with the specific theme.

Cooking directions:

Take the toothpick and then spear a half of the cherry or grape tomatoes, a mozzarella ball, a leaf of basil and then another half of the tomato.

Repeat the same step for all of the tomatoes

Arrange these tomatoes on the serving dish.

Sprinkle the tomatoes with salt and pepper to taste.

Take a bowl to mix properly oil and vinegar and use this as the dipping sauce.
